Where are you located?

We are located on Castleberry Bridge Road, about halfway between the towns of Dahlonega and Dawsonville. Right down the road from us you will find the Bridge at Castleberry Road which crosses over the Etowah river. This is an amazing place to stop on your way in or out of the butterfly farm. How much do tickets cost for the Butterfly Farm?

Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for Seniors and Military and $7 for children ages 3-12. Children under the age of 3 are free.

What age do you consider Seniors?

We do not have a set age, please let us know if you feel obliged to receive a senior discount.

Can I pre-purchase tickets?

We do not offer online tickets. Tickets may be purchased upon arrival at the farm. Our flighthouse is limited to 25 guests at a time for 20 minute intervals so there may be a slight delay upon arrival but we encourage you to enjoy the rest of the property while waiting. If you are bringing a group of 20 or more, than please call or email us to hold a time slot in the flight house.

 

Where can I park and what if I am in a camper or RV?

Parking is available on site. Small buses are allowed and have room to park. If you are planning on arriving in a large vehicle, we will do our best to accommodate and a call ahead would be best to plan accordingly.

Can I smoke at the farm?

Smoking at the farm is prohibited, this includes e-cigarettes.

 

Are pets allowed at the farm?

The farm is pet friendly to well behaved leashed animals. If needed, we have a small fenced pen area for your dog while you tour our flight house. This must be approved by a team member before leaving your dog there.

 

Do you have a restaurant where I can purchase food?

We do not offer food service at this time, however we do sell light snacks and on occasion we may have a food truck available at the farm. DoorDash and Uber Eats will deliver to the farm if you would like to order food for your convenience.

Is there somewhere where we can eat?

Picnic tables and seating areas are located throughout the farm along with a covered pavilion. Our pavilion may also be reserved for a rental fee.

 

Is the farm wheelchair accessible?

The gift shop and flight house are wheelchair accessible, however the outdoor grounds area is not paved.

What type of trails do you have?

The nature trails are fresh and new and under construction, please take caution when entering our trails. They are part of nature, please understand that they are not for everyone.

 

Can I bring a stroller?

We do ask that strollers are left outside the flighthouse due to fire code standards.

 

How long can I stay in the flight house?

We limit visitors to 20 minutes in our flight house in order to allow all of the guests time there. Temperatures in the flighthouse may be warm and humid, please dress accordingly, stay hydrated and take your time. You may exit and enter as often as you like.

 

What if it rains?

The farm will stay open during the rain, we encourage our guests to visit during the rain to experience nature at it’s finest. If the rare thunderstorm occurs, guests may be asked to exit to their cars and return once the storm has passed.

When is the best time to come?

Any time of day is a good time to visit to experience the butterflies throughout the course of their day. Arriving at the beginning of the day will allow visitors to seem waking up and fluttering around the flight house. As the sun peaks over the flight house, our butterflies become much more active and arriving later in the day gives guests the opportunity to witness them preparing for their wind down to sleep. Keep in mind there are also hundreds of native butterflies flying around outside enjoying our beautiful garden areas.

 

May I take pictures? And can I use a professional camera?

We do allow picture taking, however if you are using a professional camera, we ask that you be so kind to make a small donation to our farm and we greatly appreciate you sharing any photographs on social media and tagging us or emailing us some of your favorites. If you would like to participate in a professional photo shoot at the farm, please contact us in advance to schedule a time.

 

Can I pick flowers while I am there?

You may not pick flowers while at the farm, however if you would like to take advantage of cut flowers, for a small fee, we do provide this service. Please see one of our staff members.

Do you offer rental space, birthdays or private parties?

Yes, yes and yes! We offer all of these things along with bridal showers, engagement photos, proposals, weddings, meetings, gathering spaces and outings. Please contact us for more information. 

Can I bring my class for a field trip?

Yes! WE love schools, field trips and group outings. We offer discounts for groups that schedule in advance. What can we do to help the farm?

We often get requests from customers that ask this question. We are always in need of volunteers to work at the farm doing various jobs and tasks. We are also in need of supplies and donations such as rocks for rock painting, paints, plants you may want to donate, planting supplies and many other items. See our donation list. Sponsorships for benches, trails and garden areas are greatly appreciated as well.

 

What can I do to help the pollinators?

Plant native plants, provide pollinating gardens to the butterflies to include watering stations, puddlers, host plants, nectar plants and sleeper plants. Mow less and leave natural habitats, don’t spray for bugs in your yard and don’t use pesticides that will harm the ecosystem. Educate your friends and family on how they can help.
